The casting number on my block is as follows:17C8OE6015-BFrom what I have been able to find online it is a 1968 block used in a Fairlane or Torino.I would like to know what size inline 6 it is and does anyone know what the 17 stands for?
yeah, U must B thinkin cheb?
In what you've referenced:
not seen a casting like that. Usually a #/ltr combo big.n 1st. Such as the nxt one "C8oE"
C= decade (c - 60s, D - 70s, E - 80s)
8= yr in that decade ( '8' brings it to 1968)
The rest I dont follow but is stuff like 'this is a motor', 'B' for 2nd run after 1st change, etc.

Sorry, I’m not sure about the 17. The casting numbers do identify a model, but, with the engine block, it’s not that specific. There’s not an individual casting number for each model.
