Starting a 250 Build

I’m finally getting around to building the 250 I bought when I started the business. This engine had belonged to Mike Winterboer of Classic Inlines fame. I bought it from the man who ended up with Mike’s inventory and cars. I’ll try to keep everyone updated as the build progresses. My goal is to have the engine running by Carlisle. This may be ambitious since I want it turbocharged and fuel injected.

These pictures are the engine as I received it in 2016. More details to follow: compression ratio, piston selection, cam specs, etc.

***There will be a newsletter this week regarding progress on the heads so please resist asking about them on this post. Thanks!

Hi Matt,

it looks like a lot of fun The Oring is something new to me. I noticed there were gaps where they come together. Do you see this being an issue?

Thanks for the invite. I remember this motor when Mike had it in his 69 fastback

Please let us know what turbo you plan to use and the horsepower you expect to gain. I am researching turbos at the moment and trying to get some input on the different models for my engine rebuild as I have a 200 and the aluminum head package I was fortunate enough to get about a year ago. Looking forward to hearing how your engine build turns out.

Hi there K B, Unfortunately I have not fitted my head yet so I’m not sure about the fitment with the push rods. I am still saving up funds to rebuild my motor when I’m home from college over the summer.
